About Hawkstone Park and Country Club Hotel:

Situated just off the A49 and A442 and within easy access of the A41, M54, M56 and M6, Hawkstone Park is set in 400 acres of outstanding natural beauty. The hotel has every modern amenity to ensure a comfortable stay with many of the bedrooms recently refurbished.

There are two restaurants to enjoy, the Hawkstone restaurant within the hotel is open each evening serving a table d’Hote menu with a la carte extras, a dress code applies of no trainers or t-shirts. The Terrace Bar and Restaurant situated on the first floor of the Golf Centre is more informal and serves food all day - from snacks to three course menus (this restaurant closes at 6pm in Winter).

Two 18 hole championship golf courses are available for golf enthusiasts plus a 6 hole Academy course for beginners or experienced golfers who want a quick warm up. Hawkstone Park also has its very own historic attraction - Hawkstone Park Follies, a naturalistic garden created in the 18th century with caves, bridges and woodland walks. Opening times for the park vary and should be checked in advance. The parkland is not suitable for the elderly or disabled due to its hilly terrain.

About Hawkstone Park Follies:

Hawkstone Park Follies consist of 100 acres of follies, landscaped parkland grounds and rocky outcrops, based around the Norman castle of Red Castle. It takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours hiking to see each folly and the landscapes (there are many ascents and descents so a reasonable level of physical fitness is required) and at certain times of the year some trails are inaccessible.

Attractions include a red brick tower, once lime washed and still called the White Tower that stands over 100ft high, the Cleft which is spanned by the Swiss Bridge, the Grotto (based around a 5th century copper mine), the Arch atop of Grotto Hill, various caves, tunnels through the rock, walkways, viewpoints and trails winding through the outstanding landscapes.

The follies and estate were mainly created by Sir Rowland Hill, 1st Baronet Hill of Hawkstone (1705-1783) and Sir Richard Hill, 2nd Baronet (1733-1808) in the 18th century. The park is scheduled as a Grade-1 Historic Park and Garden and was used to portray Narnia in the BBC's TV adaptation of the series of books by C. S. Lewis.
